The source for cutting edge deck architecture

Placing 2nd on last week’s Sunday tournament (I used Black Ice, but that’s a report for another day, although I doubt anybody wants to hear another Black Ice story) taught me a few things: first is that the whole deck can be stopped by Guardian Plate Bracers if you only have a couple of Brittilize in your sideboard and NO “Scrapper”/Pappy Ironbane maindeck. Second is that Untargettables will always give some sort of trouble to the deck, given the lack of Mikael the Blunt. Third is that the Orgrimmar matchup ends in two ways: they run all over your defenses, or you barely win in a close, tight match.

Those lessons (and overhearing two of my teammates plan on playing Nicholas Merrick for Sunday), made me think twice about using the Frost Gnome in the next tournament. My next, default choice would be Kil’zin, but it crossed my mind that every deck nowadays is subconsciously tweaked to hold off Kil’zin-level of aggression. Searching for new ideas, I remembered Bryan Lyons’ Battle Lock Article at the official site. I have everything in the list but the set of The Promises of Darkness, which was easily remedied when JDJ promised to lend me on the tournament day itself.
