Personally, I think this is one of the most interesting matchup in the top 8 If there’s a guy out there who knows the Death Knight class in and out, that’s PA, who brought his version of Zin’sul . Meanwhile, on the other side of the table is the hope of (local) Warlocks everywhere, Lou Marvin! He started playing some months ago and it’s good to see him make rapid progress while sticking to the class that he loves. Today he bought a Grizlik control deck that featured Jhuu’nash. Both players are geared for the long game, but which class will prevail?

Season 7 of the Realm Championships just kicked off yesterday at Zangarmarsh, and quite a start it was! The first qualifier saw thirty players from the different areas of Manila locked horns at Neutral Grounds Glorietta 4 to battle for the first two of the available invites for the Realm Championship happening this April, bringing along with them both existing and new technology to battle their perceived metagame.

Seven rounds later six heroes played by the top eight players stood amongst the pile of casualties of this great battle, they are:

The Green Archer

Hail to thee our alma mater! Hehehe :) This is a quickie. There has been a few configurations out there for the Murloc Poison Tipped combo. We find those a bit  inconsistent and has further points of failure. This is the Team Rampage lean and mean version.

Hero: [Grglmrgl] [Grglmrgl back]

Allies:
40 [Murloc Coastrunner]
2 [Nibbler]
2 [Snurky]
4 [Slippyfist]
4 [Swarmtooth]

Abilites:
4 [Unleash the Swarm]
4 [Poison Tipped]

Total:
60 cards
Cost:

Php. 970.00 (according to JDJ)
US$ 19.40 converted

When this was first piloted, people were shocked with its efficiency. Even when I fetched the Protodragons for our veteran death knight from the airport. He simply shrugged off the level 2 off his deck and with a glimmer in his eye and an evil grin, brawls in the battleground with murlocs at hand.

The play is simple, mulligan for [Poison Tipped]. With the limited ability-hate at the moment. It normally takes people 2 cards to deal with one. If your lucky with unleash, you win by turn four. If not the damage from the influx of murlocs would still trigger the hero flip and give you a big lunge forward in killing your opponent. If you happen to not have the [Poison Tipped], worry not. [Swarmtooth] your way through the 40 [Murloc Coastrunners]!! If you stop, that’s for sure an ability or something that will help you kill your opponent.

Try it, and see how it will change the meta at your local realm :) Happy Holidays everyone.

Brel Explosion

November 11th, 2011 | Posted by acharis in Tournaments and Events - (1 Comments)

I’ve piloted a blue warlock for months now. [Victor Baltus] is a good-evil character who makes amends with his demons and wrath against his enemies. My [Fel Flame] was for some reason scarce and was sent up to the completed red warlocks. I replaced them with [Savis Cindur]‘s but they were not the same. Come anarchy, the goblin sets were dedicated up to the veteran members. JDJ scrounged the realm for bits of [Time]. The day of the event, we were able to get a donation of a piece of [Money] from a known priest.

Road to Anarchy

November 7th, 2011 | Posted by acharis in Tournaments and Events - (0 Comments)

There was much bickering in our HQ. Nothing’s changed, except Aventhunderer is more persistent than ever to pursue his designs. It is as if he knew something we didn’t. The realm had yet to understand how truly broken the bikers were.

We have mined for months the parts of his vision. Working discreetly acquiring the pieces. Set after set came, the vision grew into the vivid picture of pure anarchy it is now.

I have a few months now of experience. Seeing multitudes of characters in the battlegrounds of World of Warcraft. Team Rampage is a unique bunch of vanguards. Blitz thinkers processing permutations of multitudes of insane genius. I am still young in the craft, but my efforts have made a few dents.

ECS, Mikko came in to challenge JDJ’s designs. Tomii the rogue sage was adamant too. Everyone felt the goblin riders were there to augment the existing meta. JDJ saw them as the keys to win the war.

JDJ said, “You can wipe-out armies and do epic wins with just the goblins!”
http://teamrampage.scryer.org/2011/11/05/goblins-of-anarchy-showdown-deck/

We fought through the night, deck after deck we failed. None of our designs could match the consistency and reliability of the TR Goblin Warlock.

Nothing.

By end of the week of training, the veteran members were tasked to pilot the completed goblin decks. The others were tasked for assault positions, pushing the other competitors down the list.

The thunderer spoke true, whoever has completed all the goblins win. The warlock has 5 sets of goblins. [Summoning Portal] as the fifth. Whoever plays goblins first loses except the warlock. Because it can do it over and over and over again.

The results were good. Would have been better if we were able to complete more goblins.  Regardless all top 4 players are from Team Rampage. There were misplays here and there some bigger than others ^_^, JDJ and Tomii even had to struggle with a couple of bad hands at the start. But the recovery capability of the warlock pushed them forward.

That’s it for now, recounts of the battles that took place to follow.

TR’s Blessing and Crusade

November 5th, 2011 | Posted by aventhunderer in Deckbuilding - (1 Comments)

TR’s Blessing and Crusade

[Grand Crusader] is probably the most strongest Paladin Talent ever printed in wowtcg. In core anything that gives attack and health bonuses is a strong card (aspect of the wild, earthmother’s blessing) and always give the advantage to the player who have it in play. GC able us to have multiple copies of the buff in play making our puny little 2 cost ally bigger and harder to kill.

Many have tried their version of the deck and all are successful in their own way. GC deck is arguably the strongest deck in Core right now able to kill the opposing hero by turn 5 consistently and also, has an explosive turn mid-late game.

In our version I tried to have as many protectors as possible for defense and because most ally with protectors has high health they will probably survive until a [Grand Crusader] hits the board.

Some cards we used in our version are not used in other GC builds, they are:

[Blessing of the Kindred] – This card is a mini GC and is a great addition to the deck. Calling the warrior class for its effect, your opponent will have a hard time killing your protectors early on. Plenty of warriors are included in the deck to maximized BotK’s effect.

[Cairne, earthmother's Chosen] Stash

[Telor Sunsurge] – turn 1 protector
[Lordann the Bloodreaver] – insane protector

4 [Kazbaz] – Elusive and Protector

Another card I included is:

[Ruby Stalker] – a dragonkin for girdle’s effect, gives your allies stealth to pass through opposing protectors.
not really a great card many may say but I’ll choose this over [Bronze Drake] for this deck.

Here is a complete list of the deck I’m using on local BG’s right now.

Hero: [^Rohashu, Zealot of the Sun]

4 [Grand Crusader]
4 [Blessing of the Kindred]
2 [Blessing of Faith]
2 [Righteous Cleanse]

4 [Twilight Citadel]

4 [Seeds of their Demise]

4 [Cairne, Earthmother's Chosen]

4 [Bronze Warden]
4 [Ruby Stalker]
4 [Telor Sunsurge]
4 [Bronze Drakonid]
4 [Lordann the Bloodreaver]

4 [Dagax the Butcher]
4 [Kazbaz]

4 [Etched Dragonbone Girdle]
4 [Bottled Light]

Worlds Championships is just right around the corner and I’m really expecting 3-4 GC decks on the top 8 core constructed. Good luck to all!!!

Goblins of Anarchy Showdown Deck

The Day of the Showdown has finally come. After months of Draft Rally to collect the Goblin Bikers we can now put them to good use.

The bikers are the pinnacle of over powered cards and are entirely in a different level in terms of what they do.

Having to collect and complete them all means a higher chance of winning the Showdown
and including them in a deck in which you can search for the biker you need is another step in winning the tournament.

Goblin of Anarchy Showdown is as simple has who has the most Goblin Bikers played wins and that’s a fact.
Many may play a [Grand Crusader] Deck with Bikers this Showdown Weekend because of obvious reasons.

One [Grand Crusader] just screams to be used with the bikers.

And Two Bottled Light calls the dead bikers back for more effectiveness.

Here is a Sample GC Biker list:

Hero: [^Rohashu, Zealot of the sun]

4 [Grand Crusader]
4 [Righteous Cleanse]
4 [Blessing of the Kindred]

4 [Bottled Light]

4 [Seeds of their Demise]

4 [Cairne, Earthmother's Chosen]

4 [Telor Sunsurge]
4 [Lordann the Bloodreaver]
4 [Kazbaz]
4 [Dagax the Butcher]
4 [Bronze Drakonid]

3 [Time]
3 [Money]
4 [Power]
4 [cunning]

2 [Sinestra]

As Simple and strong as it may seem,

I really think that GC bikers is not the Strongest Deck for the Showdown.
Ever since the bikers we’re previewed I already made up my mind to use them on a Warlock Deck.

Why? because of one reason… Summoning Portal. Summoning Portal is the one card that warlock has to trump all other classes,

with this card you can search the biker you lack so that their activated powers can be maximized.
Warlock also has the draw power(Life Tap) and great early removals(Fel Blaze and Fel Flame).
The Addition of [Soul Swap] from the latest expansion Throne of the Tides and [Intensify] from War of the Elements gave the deck an Out of No Where win condition which can be pulled of as early as turn 5-6.

Another card that will win you games is [Sinestra], with the assault x coming from biker power and/or additional attack bonus coming [from Fel Flame], Sinestra can easily Eat your opponents Hero.

And so, I give my Goblins of Anarchy Showdown list to the World!!!

Hero: [^Amaxi the Cruel Back]

4 [Fel Flame] 4 [Fel Blaze]
4 [Summoning Portal]
4 [Demonic reclamation]
4 [Life Tap]
3 [Soul Swap]
3 [Intensify]

4 [Sardok]
2 [Timriv the Enforcer]
2 [Sinestra]
2 [Bronze Drakonid]

4 [Time]
4 [Money]
4 [Cunning]
4 [Power]

4 [Warchief's Revenge]
4 [Seeds of their Demise]

See you guys this Weekend at the Goblins of Anarchy Showdown!

Atlantean Mage

September 26th, 2011 | Posted by aventhunderer in Deckbuilding | General Information - (1 Comments)

Now that the Full Spoiler of the Throne of the Tides expansion is available, a new Metagame Puzzle is at hand. Will Nature  decks together with Warlock Toolbox and the Ethched Dragonbone Girdle + Twilight Citadel Class continue to be the dominant archetypes? or will the other Class finally have a spark of hope to stand to the competition?
Are the Cards from the New WoWTCG set enough for a come back?
a come back for whom? or what?

the Answer?

the Mage Class!

This Class has been one of the mostly played in the past years of wowtcg and they’ve been on the top of the ranks ever since, but not in the Worldbreaker Block Constructed Format. Mages are almost non-existent in this format, their arsenal compared to the plated and warlocks are way too weak and with their 25 health, Mages are too fragile against aggressive decks.

Now that Throne of the Tides will be arriving at our shores soon, a new format is about to be explored and a New Faction joining the War!

Throne of the Tides introduces the Monster Faction and a whole lot of new races, the Murlocks Rushing and Swarming, Ogre Smashing and Pummeling, and Naga Thinking while Swimming?

Seriously! a Naga Mage will be released in the first set of the Aftermath Block and she has a very useful Flip Power! Now I’ll definitely Play with Her (evil grin)

Atlantean Mage

Hero: [^Lady Sira'kess] [^Lady Sira'kess Back]

2 [Neptulon]

4 [Glaciate]
4 [Frostfire Bolt]
4 [Glacial Tomb]
4 [Monstrous Frostbolt Volley]

3 [Focus Magic]
3 [Arcane Barrage]

4 [Bottled Knowledge]

4 [Bottled Spite]

4 [Abyssal Maw]

4 [Tidal Elemental]
4 [Servant of Neptulon]

4 [Gilblin Deathscrounger]
4 [Revenant of Neptulon]
4 [Commander Ulthok]
2 [Neptulon, the Tidehunter]
2 [Kolorath]

I came up with the above list after i saw the spoiler list of Throne of the Tides, I saw Neptulon’s Revenant and Servant and immediately Abyssal Maw popped out of my mind thus exploring the depths of the water elemental concept became my top priority.

Consistent Healing to Stall until Kolorath arrive to control the board is not Bad for a plan.

Since I play Mage for sometime now, I first look at what possible cards to use from my class, Tidal Elemental was the first to be recognized followed by Arcane Barrage.
Focus Magic is the new Arcane talent card and is a possible draw 4 if you’re lucky enough, it’s almost always a draw 2 for 4 cost.
Another new addition from the new set is Bottled Knowledge, this card is like [Darkness Calling] with double effect.

These card draws are really needed specially now that most quests are hard to complete and gives little reward.

Glaciate and Frost Wave serves as stall cards and card cycle to dig faster on to your deck.

Finally, the New Master Hero Neptulon was added because 40 cards in the deck are either frost or frost icon and I also thought that the Fire Resistance key word will save you in some if not most of your matches.

I really can’t wait for Throne of the Tides to arrive and I’ll definitely play with this deck.

You’ve seen it here First!
